The person behind the rescue
Meet Vanessa
Every day, before and after work, Vanessa makes sure more than 40 cats have food, water and the care they need.
Whether she's tired, sick or completely exhausted, she keeps showing up.
She rescues animals who need help — cats with medical conditions, special needs, injuries and those who are often overlooked or unwanted.
They may not have a voice, but Vanessa believes she can be their voice.
She does everything she can with the resources available to her, while always wishing she could do even more.

Astoria Paws Cats was born from one person's determination to help stray and vulnerable cats. Today, that mission continues through rescue, daily feeding, medical care, fostering and adoption. We believe every cat deserves safety, compassion and the opportunity to find a loving home.
