Bella's story
Bella's story began long before she came into our care.
For months, photos and posts about a little feral cat with a badly injured leg circulated on social media. People were worried about her. Many had seen her outside and some were feeding her, but she was still surviving on the streets with a broken leg and no real solution.
Eventually, Astoria Paws Cats decided she could not be left to suffer and trapped her.
By the time Bella was rescued, the damage to her leg was severe. After veterinary evaluation, amputation was the kindest option.
Bella became a tripod, but that was only the beginning of her new life.
After spending so much time outside as a feral cat, she slowly learned what it meant to feel safe indoors. With patience and time, she began to trust.
Bella also formed an incredible bond with her sister.
Today, Bella is adopted, safe indoors, loved, and living with her bonded sister.
Rescue & recovery
